HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 9/6/2009 - Scrubs: The Complete Eighth Season was supposed to be the last season. There was a big 2-episode season finale. Then, Scrubs got picked up for another season. The hospital comedy that premiered in 2001, and picked up two Emmy nominations along the way, isn’t done yet.
For Scrubs’ eighth season, Courtney Cox, joins the staff for three episodes as Chief of Medicine Taylor Maddox. Courtney Cox also stars in Cougar Town, the new ABC series premiering on September 23, 2009. Scrubs executive producer Bill Lawrence is also producing Cougar Town. Lawrence’s wife Christa Miller, who’s older than he is, was the inspiration for Cougar Town, a story about a mid-40s woman’s issues with relationships. Miller stars in Scrubs and Cougar Town. To get the tone of female-centric Cougar Town right, it employs more female writers than any other comedy on ABC.
